Most county and area city offices closed Thursday
The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Conditions warning for the Vancouver area.
The forecast for Thursday (Feb. 13) was rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet, mainly before 1 p.m. The high temperature is supposed to be near 33 degrees. The forecast calls for it to be breezy, with an east wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.
On Thursday night there is a chance of rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet before midnight, then rain and freezing rain, possibly mixed with snow. The low is expected to be around 29 degrees. An East wind 5 to 9 mph is expected to become light and variable after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New ice accumulation of less than a 0.1 of an inch possible. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
On Friday (Feb. 14), rain, snow, and freezing rain are likely before 8 a.m., then snow likely between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow after 10 a.m. Snow level 700 feet rising to 1900 feet in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37 degrees. Light south wind. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Clark County area closures:
City of Battle Ground
Due to ongoing winter weather conditions, all city of Battle Ground offices closed at noon Thursday. This closure includes the Battle Ground Municipal Court.
Anyone who was scheduled to appear in court this afternoon should call the Battle Ground Municipal Court main line at (360) 342-5150 and leave a voicemail, along with a valid return phone number, to reschedule their appearance.
Essential services such as police and members of our Public Works Operations staff will remain on duty. Residents are encouraged to limit all non-essential travel as crews continue to maintain roads.

City of Vancouver
City buildings were closed to in-person services starting at 10:30 a.m. Thursday Vancouver’s Recreation Centers closed at noon. The city is still open to the public online and by phone during regular business hours.
Clark County
Due to inclement weather and out of an abundance of caution, most Clark County offices closed to in-person services beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday.
The Joint Lobby will be closed to in-person services all day. The Joint Lobby provides services for the Treasurer, Auditor and Assessor’s offices.

Clark County Superior and District Courts
Due to inclement weather and out of an abundance of caution, Clark County Superior and District Courts closed early Thursday.
- Superior Court will finish its morning calendars and will still hold the 1:30 pm first appearance docket.
- District Court will close immediately for in-person services for the rest of the day including the Probation Services Division and Mabry Community Restitution location. The District Court website will be updated with information for anyone who is to appear in court this afternoon.

Columbia River Mental Health Services
Due to inclement weather, Columbia River Mental Health Services closed its Main Clinic, Hazel Dell, Battle Ground and the Options locations at 11 a.m. today. North Star will remain open with normal business hours.
YWCA Clark County
YWCA Clark County’s Y’s Care Therapeutic Preschool is closed Thursday. YWCA Community Offices remain open until noon. The 24-hour crisis hotline (360) 695-0501 for domestic violence and sexual assault will remain open.
