Comedic musical to be performed March 6-8
VANCOUVER — Metropolitan Performing Arts will present ‘’Beanstalk!’’ in a weekend full of performances March 6-8.
Billed as “exactly like nothing you’ve ever seen before, not even in a book.’’ This family show follows the adventures of Jack, a young boy with his head in the clouds and Wog the not so frightening giant on top of the beanstalk. Filled with hilarious characters, toe-tapping tunes and more twists than a climbing vine, this is the one show that’s guaranteed to grow and grow and grow right into your heart.

Produced by Metropolitan Performing Arts (MPA), “Beanstalk!’’ is a unique stage adaptation of the timeless classic, portrayed by young actors part of the MPA musical theater program. Directed by Laura Hankins with musical direction by Kaleb Burriss and choreography by Shannon Jung. Performances will be March 6-8 at the Metropolitan Performing Arts Black Box Theater, located at 6403 E Mill Plain Blvd., in the heart of central Vancouver. Show times are Fri., March 6, at 6 p.m.; Sat., March 7, at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.; Sun., March 8 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Advance Tickets are $12-$14.
Metropolitan Performing Arts is a Vancouver-based nonprofit academy and community theater that offers professional, technique driven classes in acting, dance, music and tech. Their mission is to enrich the community by providing performance and educational opportunities in the live arts.
