Serving on the Clark County Council for six years was an incredible honor and a profound education. One lesson stood out: who we elect to serve on the Clark County Charter Review Commission truly matters.
The Charter is more than a document. It’s the foundation of our county government, our local constitution. It defines how decisions are made, how power is distributed, and how our community functions. Every amendment to the Charter shapes the future of Clark County in meaningful ways.
That’s why the Charter Review Commission is so important. With the right people, those who understand the nuances of governance and are committed to serving the public, we have a real opportunity to improve transparency, and ensure our government reflects the values of the people it serves.
This isn’t just about policy. It’s about trust, accountability, and the kind of community we want to build. So, when it comes time to vote, remember: the Charter Review Commission isn’t a footnote, it’s a cornerstone.
Because of what’s at stake, I’m stepping outside my usual practice. I don’t often make endorsements, but this time is different. In Clark County Council District 4, I’m pleased to endorse three exceptional candidates for the Charter Review Committee: Liz Cline Pos. 1, Janna Meyer Pos.2, and Kirk VanGelder Pos 3.
Each of them brings the integrity, insight, and commitment we need to ensure our county’s Charter reflects the needs of our unique and beautiful County. I trust them to do the hard work, ask the right questions, and put the public first.
