Marie Gluesenkamp Perez raises campaign funds and runs for U.S. Representative for the 3rd District in Washington State under this name. For real estate transactions and business filings, Kristina Marie Perez is the name she has used. Kristina Marie Perez and Dean Alan Gluesenkamp were listed as owners of a residential property in Skamania County, WA in 2017. They may still own that property.
Perez says on her campaign website she’s a “FIFTH-GENERATION WASHINGTONIAN”. Per U.S House records, she was born in Harris County, Texas in 1988. She was raised outside Houston, Texas, then went to Warren Wilson College in North Carolina. She then transferred to liberal Reed College in Portland, OR, graduating in 2013.
Perez says she ran an auto repair shop with her husband, Dean. However, she has concealed the name and location of the repair shop in ads, mailers, and websites for years. The shop is Dean’s Car Care located in Portland, Oregon. Automotive mechanic Dean Gluesenkamp has served as Agent for the business that was registered in 2012 with the Oregon Secretary of State, SOS.
Per a Dec.10, 2019 amendment filing with the Oregon SOS, Kristina M Perez was newly listed as Registered Agent and Secretary for Dean’s Car Care, Inc, signing as Kristina Marie Perez, Owner. In 2019, Kristina Marie Perez was also listed as the Agent and Owner for PEREZ GLUESENKAMP ENTERPRISES, LLC, at the same business address. What is her actual name?
Later, in 2023, amendment filings were updated to list only Dean A Gluesenkamp as President, Secretary, and Registered Agent for Dean’s Car Care, Inc. and Registered Agent for PEREZ GLUESENKAMP ENTERPRISES, LLC.
Perez stated in a 09/03/2024 newsletter, “We need to uphold the constitutional ideal that decisions made for our country are made by citizens of our country”. However, she waffles on this issue. Perez voted Against Senate bill S.1383 SAVE Act on Feb. 11, 2026. The SAVE Act requires individuals to provide documentary proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote, and requires photo identification to vote, in federal elections. On April 10, 2026, Perez voted For H.R.22, a House version of the SAVE ACT. In July, 2026 the House of Representatives, including Perez, approved H.R.8800, the National Defense Authorization Act, that included provisions of the SAVE Act. Perez described the SAVE Act provisions as unfortunately added.
Perez also voted against the 2023 Secure the Border Act (H.R. 2). John Braun states he would vote to secure the border. Perez is Co-Sponsor of H.R 5563 to lower the age for commercial truck drivers to cross state lines from 21 years old to just 18 years old, increasing risk from inexperienced drivers with heavy trucks, some 80,000 pounds or more, all across America. Insurance rates reflect higher risk for young drivers.
In contrast, John Braun is transparent about his name, and the family business he helped found, Braun Northwest, located in Chehalis, WA. As General Manager, then President, John grew the company to employ 350 people working in a 128,000-square-foot manufacturing plant. The company builds custom emergency vehicles — ambulances, fire rescue, mobile intensive care, SWAT, hazmat, and bomb disposal vehicles - serving fire, EMS, and law enforcement agencies across the western U.S, Hawaii, and Alaska.
John Braun works to protect jobs, grow agricultural trade, cut government waste, and expand energy production to fuel our future. Braun’s qualifications include: submarine Captain in the US Navy, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and M.S in manufacturing engineering, a successful business, and 13 years as a Washington State citizen-legislator.
