I would like to take a moment to publicly recognize and honor Cherish DesRochers for her incredible heart of service and dedication to both myself and the Live Love Outreach community.
Cherish is one of those rare individuals whose compassion and commitment extend far beyond words. Whether it’s organizing outreach efforts, lending a helping hand to those in need, or simply offering a listening ear to someone going through a hard time, Cherish shows up with genuine love and humility every single time.
One of the most impactful ways Cherish has served our community is through her collaboration with Live Love Outreach in bringing the shower trailer to Vancouver and surrounding areas on a regular basis. This project has provided dignity, hope, and comfort to our unhoused neighbors, giving them not only a basic need but also a reminder that they are seen, valued, and cared for. Her leadership and consistency have helped make this vital service a dependable blessing for so many.
Beyond her outreach work, Cherish has shown deep commitment to the city of Battle Ground through her dedicated service on the City Council. Her leadership reflects both compassion and integrity, always keeping the community’s well-being at the forefront of her decisions. She listens, she advocates, and she strives to build bridges between local organizations, residents, and city leadership. Her willingness to engage with all sides of an issue demonstrates the same heart of service she brings to every other area of her life.
Personally, I’ve witnessed her unwavering support and encouragement in some of the most challenging seasons of people’s lives. She brings light and stability where there is uncertainty, and her presence has made a lasting difference not just in my life but in the lives of countless others in our community.
Our community is truly blessed to have someone like Cherish DesRochers — someone who gives so much without ever asking for recognition. I am deeply grateful for her collaboration and friendship.
