Special.
That is the word to describe it.
It truly is special to experience the Clark County Fair at night.
It is not only the lights of the carnival. It is also the vibe, the energy from those who want the fun to continue as long as possible each night.
The fair is open until 10 p.m. on six of its 10 nights, but until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Those extra hours, in the dark, light up Ridgefield.
Sure, while many vendors close up shop a little earlier, the rides are still creating memories and thrills, all lit up with spectacular colors.
This past Saturday, after the I Love the 90s concert, I just walked around, took some photos, and took it all in.
The Clark County Fair runs through Sunday.
If history is any indication, it will still be crowded all the way until closing time on Sunday night.
Heck, while it is not officially observed, the carnival has even extended its hours for late-night guests who get in line before closing time. It is not unusual for the last ride to occur well past closing time.
