Three games kick off the week on Thursday, while the rest of the action is under Friday Night Lights
Week 7 of the high school football season kicks off with three Thursday games, and the 4A Greater St. Helens League gets into league play on Friday night.
It’s Camas vs. Skyview on Friday at Kiggins Bowl in the marquee matchup of the week. Skyview has won five in a row after losing in the season opener. Camas, with its tough non-league schedule to open the season 0-3, is now 3-3.
Camas has owned this series for a decade now, winning the last 11 games. There have been several close games in those contests, but Camas has come out on top. Each time.
That makes the storylines simple: Is this the year Skyview figures out how to get past Camas? Or is that tough non-league schedule preparing Camas for league battles again?

With only four teams in the 4A GSHL, making for just three league games, every game is crucial.
Battle Ground and Union play in the other 4A GSHL game on Friday.
McKenzie Stadium is hosting a 3A GSHL doubleheader on Thursday. First-place Kelso is taking on Mountain View in the early game. The Hilanders are 2-0 in league play. Mountain View is 1-1.
In the late game, Evergreen sits at 5-1 overall and 1-0 in league and is looking to get to 2-0 with a game against struggling Heritage.
In the 2A GSHL, Woodland is taking on Hudson’s Bay on Thursday at Kiggins Bowl, while the rest of the league is playing Friday night. Columbia River takes on Ridgefield. Both teams are 2-2 in league play. Woodland, in second place at 3-1, will take on Hockinson, desperate for a victory at 1-3 in league play. First-place Washougal is at last-place R.A. Long.
In the Trico League, La Center is on an emotional high after rallying from 25 points down in the second half last week at Mount Baker. Now the Wildcats return to league action, hosting Seton Catholic.
Fort Vancouver also is feeling good after picking up its second win of the season last week in a non-league game. The Trappers will take on King’s Way Christian.
