The next big recruit in high school boys basketball in Clark County has arrived.
Ethan Harris, a 6-foot-8 junior from Camas, was voted Monday night as one of the best players at one of the most prestigious high school tournaments in the West.
Harris and the Camas Papermakers went 2-2 in the Les Schwab Invitational in Portland, a tournament featuring some of the best teams in the Northwest and best programs in the nation. Annually, the Les Schwab Invitational attracts nationally ranked teams.
Harris recorded a rare 5-x-5 game in the consolation semifinals Sunday, scoring 25 points with six rebounds, five assists, seven blocked shots, and five steals. He made four 3-pointers in that game, as well.
The tournament named him the Camas Player of the Game in three of his team’s four matchups. He had 17 points, 7 rebounds in Thursday’s opener against Westview of Beaverton, Ore., then 21 and 12 in Saturday’s victory over Nelson of Happy Valley, Ore. Sunday was the 5-x-5 game in a win over Roosevelt of Portland. Harris finished the tournament with an 18-point, nine-rebound performance in a loss to Barlow of Gresham.
The official tournament stats were not updated for the final three games of the tournament as of Tuesday morning. In all there were 32 games in the 16-team event. OregonLive reported that Harris led the entire tournament in scoring at 20.3 points per game.
