A GoFundMe page has been set up for a father and his three children who were injured after being struck by a vehicle earlier this month.
Kyle Eck and his three children were using a crosswalk at the intersection of 136th Ave. and 7th Street when a vehicle crashed into them at around 3:20 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21. The driver left the scene.
Just after midnight on Nov. 22, the teen driver, escorted by his mother, turned himself in to police, according to a release from Vancouver Police Department.
A family friend has set up the GoFundMe account for Eck, his fiance Kaylee Johns, and their three children.
The last update on the GoFundMe page, on Nov. 22, notes that Eck is in a medically induced coma after surgery to relieve pressure on the brain. The three children were injured, as well, but have been released from the hospital.
The friend says money will go toward medical bills and household bills as the family deals with this crisis.
Kaylee will be caring for the kids while Kyle recovers, and they will be missing work, which adds to the financial strain. Medical bills and household expenses will quickly pile up, and any contribution can make a real difference.
