Conservative group Washington Parents Network will discuss the state’s attack on families at a free event at Bethel Community Church in Washougal at 6 p.m. Sunday, May 18
Families are under attack in Washington, according to many conservative voices, and the Washington Parents Network is trying to fight back, supporting the federal government’s plan to investigate.
David Spring, the executive director of the WPN, will be the guest speaker at a free event Sunday, May 18, at the Bethel Community Church in Washougal.
In a press release announcing Spring’s discussion, organizers noted that the state’s Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction is in violation of federal law by allowing biological males to compete in girls sports and to occupy girls rest rooms and locker rooms.
Also, during the last legislative session, House Bill 1296 was passed into law, gutting the parents’ rights initiative and violating parents’ rights to remain informed as to what their child is being subjected to in public schools.
The federal government, under President Trump, has dispatched a joint Department of Education/Justice Department task force to investigate Gov. Bob Ferguson and Chris Reykdal of the OSPI for violations of Title IX, and more. A Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act complaint has also been filed.
The Washington Parents Network has been involved in requesting a federal response to these violations in Washington state.
Spring will be discussing these topics from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 18 at Bethel Community Church, 1438 B Street, Washougal.
