VANCOUVER – Clark County Treasurer Alishia Topper has scheduled an auction to sell personal property from a former Shari’s Restaurant located in the city of Vancouver.
The auction is scheduled for Friday, July 10, and will be at the former restaurant located at 305 SE Chkalov Drive, Unit D113. Items being auctioned include various used restaurant furniture, fixtures and equipment.
- Auction preview: 9-11 a.m.
- Bidding period: 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Payment and removal of items: 12:30-4 p.m.
Lot bidding will begin at 11 a.m. and end at 11:15 a.m. If there are no bids for at least the minimum bid amount, individual bidding will begin after 11:15 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m.
This personal property distraint sale will be conducted if delinquent taxes, interest, penalty and administrative costs have not been paid by 4 pm Thursday, July 9.
The personal property will be sold “as-is” to the highest and best bidder for cash or certified funds (i.e. cashier’s check payable to Clark County Treasurer). Prospective bidders will be responsible for removal of purchased property by the stated deadline and are advised to bring equipment, tools, and transportation necessary for the removal of items.
"No one wants to see a business reach the point of a distraught sale,” said County Treasurer Alishia Topper. “Our office makes every effort to work with taxpayers to avoid this outcome through communication and opportunities to resolve outstanding obligations. But fairness requires that the tax burden not shift to businesses and property owners who have paid what they owe. This process ensures that taxes are collected equitably and that the public services supported by those revenues remain funded."
