There was a time in Southwest Washington when high school football teams scheduled three football games in nine or 10 days down the stretch in order to figure out the final playoff teams.
In recent years, we’ve had some tiebreakers in between Week 9 and 10, but not full games.
Well, now, there is some discussion in Class 2A District 4 of returning to a full game to determine the final playoff spot. Interestingly, the decision makers are hoping to make that decision this week.
The sports administrators and this high school sports reporter who make up this podcast are hoping they figure out a way to do this without playing a full game. Play a series of possessions. Make it closer to a tiebreaker. But please, please, don’t play a full game.
