One victim was pronounced deceased and a second victim was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where they later passed away
Shortly before 11 p.m. on Monday (March 23), Clark County Fire District 10 was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 36000 block of NE Fargher Drive.
Fire District 10 responded with two engines, three water tenders, and multiple fire officers. Automatic aid was provided by Clark County Fire District 13 and Clark-Cowlitz Fire Rescue, each with an engine and a chief officer. North Country EMS, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, and the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office also responded. Two engines from Clark County Fire District 3 responded as part of a second alarm request.
The first-arriving crew found a double-wide mobile home with heavy fire involvement throughout. People on scene reported that two occupants were trapped inside. Firefighters immediately initiated rescue efforts, and both victims were removed from the structure.
Despite immediate advanced life support efforts at the scene, one victim was pronounced deceased. A second victim was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where they later passed away.
This incident reflects the importance of the district’s staffing model, including the addition of around the clock staffing at Station 103 made possible through voter approval of the district’s 2023 levy. That staffing, combined with the response of our volunteer members from home and personnel backfilling district stations, helped support a rapid and sustained emergency response.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office.
