The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit Cold Case Team will be conducting a coordinated ground search on Saturday, April 4 in the Dole Valley area near Yacolt.
This effort is in partnership with Washington State Search and Rescue and Clark County Search and Rescue. The operation will include five or more specially trained Human Remains Detection (HRD) K9 teams from multiple jurisdictions across Washington State.
The purpose of this search is to locate the remains of Jamie Rochelle Grissim, who was 16 years old at the time of her disappearance. Jamie, a student at Fort Vancouver High School, went missing on December 7, 1971, while walking home from school.
In late 2025, Cold Case investigators identified and interviewed a potential witness who reported discovering a deceased female in a wooded area near Rock Creek on or about December 7, 1971. The witness was able to provide details that helped investigators narrow the possible location.
Investigators have determined the reported site is approximately 1,500 feet from where the remains of two victims — Martha Morrison and Carol Valenzuela — were discovered in October 1974. Both victims were linked to convicted serial killer Warren Leslie Forrest, who was found guilty of Morrison’s murder in February 2023 for which he received a second life sentence.
