The C-TRAN Board of Directors took time Tuesday at their monthly meeting to honor Molly Coston, who died last month.
Coston, among her many titles, was the chair of the C-TRAN Board of Directors. An icon from Washougal, Coston passed away Nov. 18. She was a former mayor of Washougal and a city councilor. She also had a passion for C-TRAN.
Tuesday’s C-TRAN board meeting was the first since the announcement of her death.
“Definitely a rough night, not having Molly with us,” said Bart Hansen, vice chair of the C-TRAN board. “She will be missed.”
Members of the board took turns giving their memories of Coston. Among them:
Vancouver Mayor Anne McEnerny-Ogle, who described Coston as “a friend, a mentor, and a true heart of her community.”
The mayor continued.
“She had a way of making everyone feel heard, valued, and included. … Thank you for everything you gave to the community and to all of us.”
Matt Little, a Clark County councilor: “Molly was a friend and mentor to many of us. I really appreciate her approach to things. Her legacy goes way beyond Washougal. The service she provided to our community is incredible.”
Sean Boyle, city councilor from La Center: “She was proud of her city. She was just a very, very sweet person.”
C-TRAN CEO Leann Caver echoed many of those thoughts during her time to speak at Tuesday’s meeting.
Last month, Caver and C-TRAN released a statement on Coston’s passing.
“She brought a warmth and with that made her an effective, compassionate leader for our region,” Caver said. “I’m grateful for Molly’s many contributions to this community.”
