Camas girls and boys teams still preparing to play Friday night in state regional games, and seven other Clark County teams are scheduled to play Saturday

The Camas Papermakers are still planning to play basketball Friday night even though school has been called off at the gym they are scheduled to play.
Battle Ground Public Schools announced Thursday afternoon that its schools would be closed Friday due to high potential for snow/slippery conditions on roads and campuses.
Low temperatures throughout Clark County are expected to drop into the teens Thursday night into Friday morning, meaning all wet roads, or roads still with snow on them, will be frozen prior to the morning commute.
Protocol usually calls for schools to cancel after-school events on days when school is cancelled, but an exception has been made for the Class 4A state girls and boys basketball tournaments.
A Washington Interscholastic Activities Association source confirmed that Friday’s games, which include the Camas girls and the Camas boys, are still scheduled to be played at Battle Ground High School on Friday night.
The Camas girls are the No. 2-seed going into the tournament. They take on No. 7 Kamiakin in a regional seeding game at 6 p.m. The winner will advance directly to the state quarterfinals. The loser will fall into the round of 12. Both teams are assured of playing in the Tacoma Dome for the final week of the state tournament.
The Camas boys are No. 10-seed. They face No. 15 West Valley of Yakima at 8 p.m. The winner will advance to the Tacoma Dome for the round of 12. The loser will be eliminated from competition.
Battle Ground’s gym will also host two more elimination games on Saturday. The King’s Way Christian boys, the 12-seed, will face La Salle, No. 13, in a Class 1A elimination game at 10 a.m.
At noon, the No. 9 Union Titans will face No. 16 Sumner in a Class 4A boys elimination game.
In all, Clark County has nine basketball teams playing in state regional games this weekend.
The 4A teams that advance to next week — the Camas girls have already qualified — will be playing in the Tacoma Dome.
The Class 2A and 1A schools that advance will be playing in the Yakima Valley SunDome.
And if the Class 1A team from Clark County advances, it will be playing in the Spokane Arena.

6 p.m.: Class 4A Girls — No. 2 Camas vs. No. 7 Kamiakin, at Battle Ground High School. Winner to state quarterfinals. Loser to round of 12.
8 p.m.: Class 4A Boys — No. 10 Camas vs. No. 15 West Valley of Yakima, 8 p.m. at Battle Ground High School. Winner to round of 12. Loser eliminated.
6 p.m.: Class 1A Boys — No. 14 Seton Catholic vs. No. 11 Seattle Christian, at Auburn High School. Winner to round of 12. Loser eliminated.
Saturday
10 a.m.: Class 1A Boys — No. 12 King’s Way Christian vs. No. 13 La Salle, at Battle Ground High School. Winner to round of 12. Loser eliminated.
Noon: Class 4A Boys — No. 9 Union vs. No. 16 Sumner, at Battle Ground High School. Winner to round of 12. Loser eliminated.
Noon: Class 1A Girls — No. 13 Seton Catholic vs. No. 12 Seattle Academy, at Bellevue College. Winner to round of 12. Loser eliminated.
2 p.m.: Class 2A Girls — No. 13 Columbia River vs. No. 12 Enumclaw, at Auburn High School. Winner to round of 12. Loser eliminated.
