Alysha Chandra to host official launch event for Clark County prosecuting attorney campaign

Although her candidacy is already public, this event serves as the formal kickoff of her campaign and the full presentation of her priorities for the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office

VANCOUVER — Alysha Evelyn Chandra, assistant city attorney for Vancouver and judge advocate general (JAG) officer in the Washington Army National Guard, will host her official campaign launch event on Jan. 15 at The Cove on the Vancouver waterfront. Although her candidacy is already public, this event serves as the formal kickoff of her campaign and the full presentation of her priorities for the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office.

“This race is about rebuilding strong leadership and restoring accountability,” Chandra said. “People deserve a prosecutor who will lead from the front, make clear decisions, and put public safety first. This event gives the community the chance to meet me directly and understand the standards I intend to bring back to this office.”

Chandra’s platform focuses on:

• Holding serious and repeat offenders accountable
• Strengthening victim support and community safety
• Restoring leadership stability and consistent expectations
• Rebuilding trust with law enforcement
• Supporting therapeutic courts and responsible early intervention
• Ensuring integrity, transparency, and disciplined decision-making

Chandra brings nearly a decade of prosecutorial experience, including service as a deputy prosecutor in Spokane, Lewis, and Pierce counties before joining Vancouver. She has led complex and high-impact cases, including a multi-member gang prosecution, one of the largest prison riot cases at Green Hill School at the time, a ten-year-old serial rape prosecution, and multiple multi-analyst toxicology matters.

Chandra has also provided legal and procedural training for law enforcement agencies to strengthen case development, improve courtroom readiness, and build stronger public-safety partnerships. In Vancouver, she has been a consistent advocate for the smart, responsible use of prosecutorial discretion to move cases efficiently and reduce backlog while ensuring victims are not left waiting for justice.

“As both a prosecutor and a military officer, I understand the responsibility that comes with this role,” Chandra said. “My commitment is to deliver justice with discipline, transparency, and the clarity this community deserves.”

Alysha Chandra serves as an assistant city attorney for Vancouver and a judge advocate general officer with the Washington Army National Guard’s 81st Stryker Brigade Combat Team, where she is the National Security and Operational Law Counsel. She previously served as a deputy prosecutor in Spokane, Lewis, and Pierce counties and on the board of Columbia River Mental Health Services.
