BATTLE GROUND — Recent visitors to Battle Ground City Hall have been treated to a showcase of bright and beautiful new artwork.  The featured artists are 2nd grade students at Tukes Valley Primary School.

The students are learning about civics and the people who provide goods and services to make a community work.  Each year the students visit City Hall for a fun and interactive program to learn about city government and services.  The partnership between the city and the school has grown to include the student’s Community Helpers-themed poster art display at City Hall, and the participation of the Battle Ground Art Alliance who selects one poster from each 2nd grade class for special recognition.

The five students selected for their exceptional work were recognized at the May 6 City Council meeting and presented with a certificate, city pin, and blue ribbon by Mayor Mike Dalesandro and Battle Ground Art Alliance President Dotty Yackle-Kay.

Congratulations to all Tukes Valley student-artists and to the five selected for special recognition (as pictured with Battle Ground City Councilmembers, from left to right):
