BATTLE GROUND — “Like a Hallmark card,” said Battle Ground Mayor Philip Johnson, “we care enough to send the very best.”
Johnson’s words and sincere sentiment referred to the 27 high school seniors from the Battle Ground community who, after graduation, will be entering the U.S. Armed Forces.
Members of the Battle Ground City Council recognized the students at Monday’s Military Appreciation Night. The evening focused on the students, who spoke about their military assignments, their goals, and their families.
The 5th Annual Military Appreciation Night comes during Military Appreciation Month, designated by Congress to ensure that the nation was given the opportunity to publicly demonstrate their appreciation for the sacrifices and successes made by our service members.
