Voting conducted by readers of Vancouver Family Magazine in annual contest
VANCOUVER — The votes are in and Vancouver Family Magazine readers have named Firstenburg Community Center (700 N.E. 136th Ave.) and Esther Short Park (W. 8th and Columbia streets) as the “Best of Vancouver 2020” in an annual contest designed to highlight family-friendly resources and amenities available in Vancouver.
Firstenburg Community Center was voted “Best Family Fitness” because of the diversity of options offered at the center. The aquatic playground, multiple gyms, climbing wall, indoor track, robust exercise classes and drop-in playgroup ensure that visitors of all ages will stay active and have fun.

Esther Short Park took home this year’s award for “Best Public Park.” The oldest public square in the state of Washington, this this 5-acre park in the heart of downtown Vancouver features mature trees, a lush lawn, a playground, restrooms, bell tower and water feature, and covered stage.
