One-year anniversary, fall programs and new app cause for Sept. 27 celebration
VANCOUVER — Vancouver Tennis Center, located at 5300 E 18th Street in Vancouver, will rally from summer to fall programming with a free community event on Fri., Sept. 27, 6 to 8 p.m., to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the facility’s remodel. Players of all levels are encouraged to bring friends and family to the event to enjoy food and refreshments, and hit the courts to sample fall junior and adult programs.
Vancouver Tennis Center is owned and operated by the United States Tennis Association Pacific Northwest district (USTA PNW). Space for the anniversary event is limited, and advance registration is encouraged through the Vancouver Tennis Center Facebook page, which also includes a complete anniversary event schedule.
Every person who attends the event will receive one free raffle ticket to win the grand prize pack valued at over $500 that includes a Wilson Clash racquet, Wilson Clash tennis bag, Wilson Clash T-shirt and Wilson RushPro tennis shoes. The grand prize is courtesy of Dickson’s Pro Shop and Wilson. Event attendees who purchase memberships on site will receive extra raffle tickets toward the grand prize, and their $29 membership initiation fee will be waived. Program purchases will also glean extra raffle tickets.
“Our one-year anniversary event is the perfect time for our community to experience tennis in a no-pressure celebratory environment,” said Patrick Dreves, USTA PNW general manager, Facilities Operations and Services. “We welcome first-time and experienced players alike at the Vancouver Tennis Center year-round, and look forward to sharing more about the programs lined up for the new season. We’re particularly excited to introduce the new Tennis 101 6-week program for beginners and we’ll be demonstrating activities participants will learn in this program during the event.”
Registration is now available for Vancouver Tennis Center fall classes and programs.
Vancouver Tennis Center will also celebrate the launch of its new PNW Tennis Centers app at the anniversary event. The app allows users to sign up for classes, programs and reserve a court at both USTA PNW tennis facilities, Vancouver Tennis Center and Galbraith Tennis Center in Tacoma. Employees will be available during the event to help demonstrate how to download and use the app.
“Our goal is to grow the game of tennis by providing easy access to affordable, high-quality instruction and industry-leading courts,” added Dreves. “The PNW Tennis Centers app is one more way to help people easily access the game.”
PNW Tennis Centers currently have more than 1200 active members, and serves approximately 5000 players through programs, tournaments, classes, USTA and City Leagues, camps, lessons, and open court play. Membership is not required for either of the two locations to enjoy PNW Tennis Center amenities, although two key benefits of membership are priority court time, and lower program fees.
More information on both facilities is available at the PNW Tennis Center website: https://pnwtenniscenters.com.
