Jeff Castagnola also is the head coach for the women’s team at Clark College
Jeff Castagnola, a coaching director at the Washington Timbers FC and the head coach at Clark College, has been named the boys soccer coach at Seton Catholic.
He has been coaching in the community for more than 10 years, and also led the Portland Timbers/Thorns regional training centers and has been involved with the Olympic development program.
Castagnola replaces Amanda Chase, who is stepping down to spend more time with her family, according to Phil Kent, the school’s athletic director.
Kent said he appreciated Chase’s dedication to the program and for leaving it in such a strong position. The Cougars went 14-4 last spring and reached the playoffs for the first time in more than half a decade.
High school boys soccer is a spring sport Washington, allowing Castagnola to continue as the women’s coach at Clark in the fall.
