Some of the top senior players from the region to play doubleheader
VANCOUVER — The high school baseball season is not quite finished just yet.
The 41st Southwest Washington Senior All-Star Games are set for Wednesday at Propstra Stadium.
Some of the top seniors from area high schools will be on the field for two eight-inning games. The first game starts at 4 p.m. Tickets cost $5.
Among the players scheduled to compete include Class 4A Greater St. Helens League Player of the Year Daniel Copeland of Skyview. The Storm finished second in state this season. In all, the Storm will have five players on the all-star teams, with Michael Lundgren, Max Rose, Michael Hickey, and Carter Hill joining Copeland.
King’s Way Christian, which finished second in the state in Class 1A, has three representatives on the roster: Sam Lauderdale, Brannan Meriwether, and Riley Danberg.
Tommy Snyder of Evergreen, the 3A GSHL’s Pitcher of the Year, is on a roster.
So, too, are three members of the 3A GSHL champions from Mountain View: Grant Francis, Spencer Warner, and Hayden Minich.
La Center, which shared the Trico League title, has three players on the all-star teams: Hayden Williamson, Saige Keep, and Jake Ossenkop.
It is tradition that after this game, area coaches meet up to nominate players to represent Southwest Washington at the all-state series.
