The race for the Class 2A Greater St. Helens League football title took a turn in a familiar direction Friday night.
Hockinson, winners of the league championship in each of the past two seasons, scored late to earn a come-from-behind 14-13 victory over Columbia River in a game played at Hockinson High School.
Hockinson improved to 4-1 in league play and 6-1 overall while Columbia River fell to 3-1 in GSHL action and 4-3 overall.
Woodland, which handed Hockinson it’s only loss of the season and lost last week at Columbia River, also remains in the hunt in the race for the league title and postseason berths.
