Our colleague Bryan Levesque went out to La Center again to watch the Wildcats take on another great team. He got us a few quotes so we could file this report.
Eatonville got the best of La Center, but La Center had a lot of positive things come out of this game.
Yards from scrimmage: La Center 350, Eatonville 311
Jalen Ward rushed for 127 yards for the Wildcats, and he credited his offensive line.
“I love them. They work so hard,” Ward said. “They’re great.”
La Center quarterback Darren Cepeda rushed for 84 yards and a score and also threw for a touchdown pass.
Oh, and La Center did its best to keep Eatonville’s incredible offense off the field. La Center had a whopping 37 minutes of time of possession.
(What is scary, though, is Eatonville scored five touchdowns in its 11 minutes of possession.)
“That’s the best 1A team in the state,” opined La Center coach John Lambert. “We want the best. It will make us better.”
Ward agreed, saying that La Center played “pretty good” but the team will have to clean up some things.
Oh, and Ward said he would not be surprised to face Eatonville again, in the playoffs.
“We’re winning the second one,” he said.

La Center received the second-half kickoff, trailing 21-13. From there, the Wildcats went on a 19-play drive.
nfortunately for the Wildcats, the drive ended with an interception … on the final play of the third quarter.
That’s right. Eatonville only touched the ball in the third quarter on the final play of the quarter, while on defense. The Eatonville offense did not get on the field in the quarter.
