CAMAS — The Camas Papermakers advanced to the quarterfinals of the Class 4A state high school football playoffs with a 55-6 win over Graham-Kapowsin in a game played Friday at Doc Harris Stadium.
The Papermakers, ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press state Class 4A poll, advanced their season record to 11-0 with the victory. It’s the seventh consecutive season that Camas has won at least 10 games.
In the quarterfinals, Camas will play at Skyline at 3 p.m. on Sat., Nov. 1. It’s the sixth time in the last seven years that Camas as advanced at least as far as the quarterfinals of the state playoffs.
Last season, the Papermakers were eliminated by Skyline with a 35-10 loss in the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. Skyline, of Sammamish, went on to finish second in the state in 2015, losing to Gonzaga Prep in the championship game. Skyline won the state Class 4A title in 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2012 and also finished second in 2010.
