This year’s event to be held Sat., Feb. 29 at Woodland High School
WOODLAND — Tickets are currently on sale for Woodland’s 16th Annual Father/Daughter Ball, to be held Sat. Feb. 29 at Woodland High School. The event will be divided into two sessions (3-5 p.m. or 7-9 p.m.) to accommodate more fathers and daughters.
Tickets are available at Ace Hardware, located on Lewis River Road next to High School Pharmacy. Tickets are $5 per person and each person needs their own ticket. Cash or checks accepted, no debit cards accepted. Tickets are good only for the time slot chosen and are not interchangeable.
All ages of girls welcome. Sorry curious moms, unless you are escorted by your own father, you will not be admitted.
The ball will be held at Woodland High School, 1500 Dike Access Road, Woodland. Grace Community Church will host as a nonprofit community service event.
This year’s theme, “The Roaring 20s,” highlights some of Woodland’s history with old photos on display and many antiques. Attendees can also dress vintage Hollywood style or casual. Upon entry, the only other cost for participants is if they wish to have a professional portrait taken by local photographer Mike Schultz. The $5 ticket includes finger foods, beverages, free chance at local door prizes and each girl will receive a small take-home gift.
This year, all attendees will be able to enter a free raffle for an antique working standup Victrola or a working vintage standup AM radio. Upbeat music selections will include the Charleston combined with traditional slow songs like What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.
No guns will be allowed, even as part of costumes.
