The aim is to make a significant positive impact on the lives of these mothers and their newborns
VANCOUVER — River City Church officials are excited to announce that their 3rd Annual Community Baby Shower will be even bigger and more impactful than ever. Thanks to a partnership with Molina Healthcare, this year they were able to invite 75 under-resourced pregnant moms to participate. Together, the aim is to make a significant positive impact on the lives of these mothers and their newborns.
Every participating mom will receive at least one large baby item, along with clothes, diapers, wipes, and more. Our dedicated and smiling volunteers will be on hand as personal shopping assistants, and to serve delicious cake in a beautifully decorated room featuring a charming woodland baby shower theme.
This year, we’ve added seven diaper donation drop-off sites throughout the city at various businesses. This initiative has garnered incredible support, allowing us to provide even more essential supplies to the moms in our community.
“We are so excited to see the impact we can make by collaborating together,” said Pastor Ryan Sidhom. “Our partnership with Molina Healthcare and the generosity of local businesses and volunteers have truly elevated this event, ensuring that every mom feels supported and celebrated.”
On the 2nd Sunday of each month, River City Church skips their typical “worship service” to serve their community through a volunteer project — just like this one.
“Jesus said that His followers should be known by their love,” said Pastor Ryan Sidhom. “So we want to be known by our love… no strings attached! Our desire is to be a blessing to the community. We regularly invite local businesses and organizations to partner with us, either by volunteering or by contributing supplies.”
PLEASE NOTE: Registration is now closed for mom participation; walk-ins are unable to participate.
This year’s event will take place on Sun., July 14, at 11 a.m. at River City Church, 2400 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver.
