RIDGEFIELD — On Sat., Nov. 2, Ridgefield’s Overlook Park will be transformed into a jazz-filled speakeasy housed under large canopies with heaters & chandeliers for a Roaring 20’s themed wine tasting and celebration. Area residents are invited to come enjoy the bounty of the wine corridor surrounding Ridgefield and participate in a day of 1920’s themed fun.
This 21-plus event will feature live music and dancing with David Watson’s Re-Birthing the Cool, Bebop N Beyond and acoustic group Adagio Soul. Have a tasting or a glass of wine and purchase a bottle at the Bootleg Wine Wall. All profits benefit the Friends of the Ridgefield Community Library. Featured wines will be from Gouger Cellars, Confluence Winery and Stavalaura Vineyards.
Play bottle toss with a pearl necklace and Bingo to win prizes, learn speakeasy slang, enjoy a selfie scavenger hunt, and show off your best Roaring 20’s costume in the photo booth and on the red carpet. Enjoy light hors d’oeurves, a cheese pairing and food from On Tots Food Truck, Storyboard Delights chocolates, and For the Love of Nuts.
When in downtown, attendees are invited to visit the Chickadee Arts & Crafts Bazaar at Old Liberty Theater and find handcrafted arts from local artisans, free sparkling cider and chocolate samples, and a gingerbread house contest.
Admission ($15) includes a commemorative wine glass and five tasting tokens (two for $25 or four for $45). One token for a taste, five tokens for a glass. Admission may be purchased at the door or in advance at Bit.ly/RoaringRidgefield.
