Public invited to celebrate the season at Downtown Ridgefield’s Hometown Celebration Dec. 4

Those in attendance will find twinkling lights, decorated businesses, gifts, food, and holiday specials

Area residents are invited to visit Downtown Ridgefield on Sat., Dec. 4 for Ridgefield’s Hometown Celebration where those in attendance will find twinkling lights, decorated businesses, gifts, food, and holiday specials. 

Visitors will have the opportunity to check items off their list at vendors in the outdoor marketplace and in downtown shops. They can also enjoy decorations and lights throughout downtown and in the Circle of Trees at Overlook Park.

There will also be the opportunity to bring the family to complete winter and holiday inspired crafts and meet Santa. Those in attendance can end the day by attending the Tree Lighting in the heart of downtown and enjoy food and warm drinks in local restaurants and food carts.

• Ugly Sweater 5K/10K – 120 N 3rd Avenue, 8AM Registration, 9AM Race Start Time Kick off the celebration with a fun run/walk with Ridgefield Runners. Prizes for the ugliest sweater. Register online at runridgefield.com.

• Holiday Food and Gift Marketplace – Overlook Park, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Shop Farmers Market and holiday food and gift vendors at Overlook Park. 

• Winter and Holiday Inspired Crafts – Overlook Park, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Free fun for the family! Find a selection of winter and holiday inspired craft projects. These can be completed while waiting to meet Santa, or anytime throughout your day in Downtown. 

• Ornament Hunt – Downtown Ridgefield, 9 a.m. A limited number of Ridgefield tree ornaments will be hidden around Downtown Ridgefield on Sat., Dec. 4. Find one and it’s yours to keep. 

• Drive and Drop Food Drive – View Ridge Middle School, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Walk and Knock is Drive and Drop again. Drop off non-perishable food, toiletries, and/or cash donations. 

• Circle of Trees – Overlook Park, 9 a.m. Walk through our circle of trees decorated by your favorite Ridgefield businesses and organizations. Vote for your favorite Dec. 4th-11th. Sponsored by Columbia Credit Union. 

• Say Hello to Santa – Pioneer St Game Park, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Say hello and take your own pictures in front of Santa. Free. Sponsored by Ridgefield Mini Storage. 

• Holiday Trolley Rides – Load and Unload @ Overlook Park, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Free trolley rides around Downtown Ridgefield to view the lights and decorations. 

• Tree Lighting – Overlook Park, 4:30 p.m. Come to Overlook Park for a performance from DanceFusion, music, and the lighting of the tree. Search the crowd for Rally the Raptor and watch Downtown light up for the holidays. 

• Acoustic Guitar Summit – Old Liberty Theater, 7:30 p.m. Grammy-winning guitarists come together to create stunning harmonics and mind-bending fingerstyle. Tickets available at http://www.oldlibertytheater.com/events/
