WOODLAND — Love Street Playhouse finishes its 2016 Season with Dan Goggin’s hilarious Christmas Musical, Nuncrackers, from December 2nd through the 18th at Love Street Playhouse, 126 Loves Ave. in Woodland.
“Nuncrackers: The Nunsense Christmas Musical” is the first “TV Special” taped by the sisters in their convent basement studio for Cable Access. It stars the nuns you love plus Father Virgil and some of Mount Saint Helen’s most talented students. It features all new songs including: “Twelve Days Prior to Christmas,” “Santa Ain’t Comin’ To Our House,” “We Three Kings of Orient Are Us,” and “It’s Better to Give Than To Receive.”
This show is filled with “Nunsense” humor, some favorite carols, a “Secret Santa,” and an uproarious take on Tchaikovsky’s “Nutcracker Ballet.” Nuncrackers will make the audience laugh and maybe tug at their heartstrings,” says the owner and artistic director of Love Street Playhouse, Melinda Pallotta. “When we presented “Nunsense” back in 2015 our audiences came out in droves and went home laughing and singing! So bringing the nuns back to our stage was a must for the 2017 season.”
Bethany Pithan of Longview directs the cast of talented actors at Love Street Playhouse. The cast stars Julie Earls as Reverend Mother, Karen Davis as Sister Mary Hubert, Ashley Hall as Sister Robert Anne, Becky Skinner as Sister Mary Paul, Fran Krohn as Sister Mary Leo, Ashley Stevens as Sister Mary Wilhelm, Lou Pallotta as Father Virgil, and Athena Franklin and Peyton Yager as students from Mt. St. Helen’s School.
The artistic team includes Owner and Artistic Director Melinda Pallotta, Bethany Pithan (Director), Ashley Hall (Music Director), Ashley Stevens (Choreographer), Pat Rohrbach (Costumes) and Lou Pallotta (set design).
“People have been looking forward to this show all year,” says Melinda Pallotta. “In fact, as soon as tickets were released we decided to add two more performances to the lineup. Our tickets were selling so quickly that we knew we needed to add more.”
Performances of Nuncrackers are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Added show dates are Dec. 8 and 14 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $17-$20 in advance when you choose your seats online by visiting the theatre’s website at www.lovestreetplayhouse.com or by calling (360) 907-9996.
