After 23 years of helping the Furry Friends cats and kittens, Linda Rader is retiring
Furry Friends recently held a retirement party for their longest active volunteer Linda Rader.
After 23 years of helping the Furry Friends cats and kittens, Linda Rader is retiring. She has been the foster coordinator, is a current foster for our hospice and senior kitties, was the vice president on the board, then a board member. She has worn many hats. Linda has always held a leadership and board member position with the organization.
Sometime after she retired from her job, she decided to volunteer for Furry Friends which was in its infancy. Furry Friends started in 1999 and Linda joined in 2001. Since then, she has volunteered all her waking hours to this Vancouver group.
Rader has been involved in many areas for Furry Friends. As the original adoption coordinator, Linda handled the intake of all cats, coordinated their care, drove the cats to the vet, oversaw foster care, interviewed possible adopters, coordinated which cats go to our adoption shows and adoption centers and handled all administrative details for each cat. This was a full time job for this so-called retired lady.
