Haunted houses, spooky activities abundant this October

For many people, the beginning of October signifies the start of trips to the pumpkin patch, hayrides, corn mazes and hot apple cider. For others, however, the first day of October means it’s time to seek out the thrills that come from visiting a great haunted house or other frightful area events.

The Clark County area offers some scary solutions for those looking to scare themselves silly during the month of frights, as does the surrounding Portland area with a couple of different haunted attractions to choose from just across the bridge.

Here is a brief listing of some of the larger haunted attractions in the area, as well as some other spooky events coming up this October:

The Clark County ScareGrounds Haunted House Scream Park, located at the Clark County Fairgrounds in Ridgefield, will offer four all new attractions this year, including Return to the Asylum, Night Terrors, The Lost Colony and Area 51. Photo from Clark County ScareGrounds Facebook page.
