
Sublime with Rome will play its greatest hits at a concert Saturday night in the grandstands, and fiddling and watermelon eating contests will be held on the community stage during the day

RIDGEFIELD — Well, the first day is out of the way.
The celebration is in full swing.
Summer’s Biggest Party is ready for the first of its two weekends. Here are some of the highlights for Saturday, Aug. 3 at the Clark County Fair.
The VIP tickets for Saturday night’s concert are sold out, but general admission is first-come, first serve in the grandstands as fans welcome Sublime with Rome to the stage.
The band has had so many songs through the years, with perhaps the Santeria being the biggest hit. Do not be surprised if that is the last song on the setlist Saturday night.
The fair will continue with its daily exhibits, including featured exhibit Dino Encounters. And below there is a link to the entire day’s entertainment schedule.
But here are some highlights:
The Washington State Fiddle Championships begin at 10 a.m. at the Holt Homes Community Stage. The championships have another session at 2 p.m.
The Pretty Baby Contest is at 11:30 a.m., with registration at 10:30 a.m. That event is at the Kids’ Park.
Registration for the Watermelon Eating Contest is at 12:30 p.m. at Holt Homes Community Stage. The contest begins at 1 p.m.
And at 5 p.m., there is a Special Kids Rodeo at the Dr. Jack Giesy Arena.
Among the animal fun at the fair on Sunday, costumes and judging for llama and alpacas are at 1 p.m.
