Community Foundation Luncheon scheduled for June 6

VANCOUVER —The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington is hosting its 2017 Annual Luncheon on Tue., June 6 at the Hilton Vancouver.

A half-hour of networking will precede the formal program, which includes lunch and an awards presentation from noon to 1:30 p.m. Tickets to the non-fundraising event are $50 and are available at www.cfsww.org.

The awards ceremony will recognize Greg and Michele Goodwin as the 2017 Philanthropists of the Year for their philanthropic leadership and service in the region. This year’s program, themed Giving Out Loud, will feature a few stories from local residents that were collected as part of the Community Foundation’s ongoing community storytelling project with the same name. The project asks local residents to share personal stories of how philanthropy has impacted their lives. It seeks to curate a diverse set of stories that include accounts from individuals who have given or received philanthropic support, as well as everything from traditional volunteerism and charitable contributions to community building and personal acts of kindness. Those interested can submit stories to the Giving Out Loud project by visiting cfsww.org/giving-out-loud.

Gold-level sponsors Columbia Trust, Leslie Durst, Great Northern Asset Management, Kuni Automotive, the Wayne D. Kuni and Joan E. Kuni Foundation, and Russell Investments have provided generous support for the event, which is regarded as southwest Washington’s premier celebration of philanthropy.
