Clark County visitor’s attraction hold’s popular Train Robbery Weekend ride
The Chelatchie Prairie Railroad is once again operating and Clark County Today’s Andi Schwartz and her sons Kainan and Randy enjoyed the railroad’s Train Robbery Weekend Saturday.
The Train Robbery Weekend allows riders to be part of the action as robbers board the train and make off with the valuables. The gang has grown since they found out that the trains are “easy pickin’s”. The sheriff sent over Wanted Posters for this nasty team. He also said that the posse may be in town prior to the train’s departure, checking out the passengers. Riders are encouraged if they see them, to please be cautious and protect their valuables.
The Railroad’s next scheduled event is the Late-summer Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, August 7 & 8. Area residents can join in on a 14-mile round trip starting in Yacolt through the logging and farming country of North Clark County — stopping at Moulton Station to visit the falls. Along the way the train will cross the Lewis River, see excellent views from the cliff-side vantage point and experience the thrill of riding through a 330-foot-long tunnel blasted out of solid rock.
