Camas Farmers Market is a weekly celebration of the region’s agricultural bounty, fabulous food and community spirit
CAMAS — Camas Farmers Market kicks off 15 years of fresh this season, with locally grown produce, delicious prepared food, healthy lifestyle information and live music.
Opening Day festivities include a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Hogan and a Health Fair featuring Ripple Wellness, with 15 additional local health practitioners sharing information for living your best life.
The 2022 premier sponsor, Providence Health and Services, has again partnered with the market to insure community access to nutrient dense food for all and ongoing wellness resources that the market features.
Camas Farmers Market is a weekly celebration of the region’s agricultural bounty, fabulous food and community spirit. Each Wednesday, the market comes alive with freshly harvested seasonal fruits and vegetables, pastured meat, eggs, and prepared foods.
Fill your shopping basket, chat with a farmer, glean current menu and lifestyle tips from local chefs and wellness experts, at the Healthy Living booth. Have dinner on the library lawn, visit with friends and neighbors while relaxing to the sounds of live music, sample wine from a local winery, sip locally roasted coffee, choose vibrant, field-grown flowers, experience raw honey and enjoy a fresh treat from local bakers.
WSU Extension Service Master Gardeners are available each week to answer your home gardening questions. The Kid’s Connection booth entertains and educates young visitors with fun, engaging projects that teach healthy food choices, nutrition and basic gardening.
Register for Produce Pals, and by participating in a learning activity each week, children, 3-11, receive a $2 token to purchase their own fresh fruits and vegetables. This program is a win-win for children and growers. Produce Pals is generously sponsored by Camas-Washougal Community Chest and IQ Credit Union.
Camas Farmers Market offers SNAP/EBT customers up to $40 in SNAP Market Match each week. These bonus dollars increase the purchasing power of food assistance benefits, encouraging recipients to purchase more healthy foods directly from local farmers. In conjunction with WSU SNAP-Ed, SNAP customers may register for a Market Tour to provide extra education and incentives for shopping locally. WIC and Senior FMNP are accepted at the market, as well.
