Area residents are invited to celebrate the holiday season at Battle Ground’s 32nd annual Holiday Tree Lighting on Fri., Dec. 3 at the Battle Ground Community Center located at 912 East Main Street in the city’s historic Old Town district.
The free community event begins at 5:30 p.m. with a gathering ‘round the tree for live music and caroling with the Battle Ground High School Choir.
Santa Claus is scheduled to arrive by shiny Fire District 3 engine with a lights-on Battle Ground Police Department escort to lead everyone in a festive countdown to the lighting of the tree.
The celebration moves indoors to the warmth of the community center where Santa and Mrs. Claus greet children and all who are young at heart. Families and friends are encouraged to bring cameras or phones to take free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Complimentary holiday cookies, generously donated by the Battle Ground Lions Club, and free hot cocoa adds to the tradition and warmth of our community celebration.
