CAMAS — Liz Pike might be known more for her work as a member of Washington State Legislature, but this month the Camas resident has artwork being displayed for show and sale at three separate events in the Camas-Washougal area.
Pike’s original work in oils on canvas are being featured for the entire month of August at Camas Art Gallery, 408 NE Fourth Avenue. Pike also performed a live painting demonstration inside the gallery at Camas First Friday Art Walk on Friday.
On Sat., Aug. 12, Pike is participating in the Washougal Art Festival from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Reflection Plaza at the corner of Pendleton Way and Main Street. Pike is showing her work along with 23 other local artists in the juried show.
Area residents can enter to win a Liz Pike original in the Washougal Art Alliance raffle that is being held periodically throughout the day.
The fourth annual Art at the Farm is slated for Friday and Saturday, Aug. 25-26. Pike is teaming up with two artist friends, Sarah Bang and Tamra Sheline, both of Camas, to host this two-day art show. The two-day event will be open from noon to 9 p.m. each day.
Art at the Farm will showcase each of their original styles in oils, acrylics, watercolor and pencil in an open air event at Pike’s Shangri-La Farm, located at 26300 NE Third Street, Camas. Those who attend will have the opportunity to enjoy live painting demonstrations by the artists.
The public is invited to attend and enjoy original works of art in the daylight and under a starry sky. Art will be on display for show and sale. There is no cost to attend. Light appetizers and refreshments will be available.
Visitors are asked to park at rented Grove Field Airport parking lot, 632 NE 267th, Camas, just around the corner from Shangri-La Farm. A short trail through the woods meanders to the farm. ADA parking is available directly at the Farm.
Pike owned and operated the Pike Art Gallery in Camas until 2008. She is the founder of Camas First Friday Art Walk and has been painting in oils on canvas since 1984. Her work has been featured in art galleries in Honolulu, Vancouver and Camas.
Bang’s art has been featured on CD covers for Michael Allen Harrison, wine labels for Northwest wineries, and the cover of Country Pleasures magazine. Her artwork has also helped raise more than $75,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Sheline’s passion is fine art. She is a member of Southwest Washington Watercolor Association and Battle Ground Art Alliance. She enjoys teaching Art Parties and Watercolor on Yupo Classes.
