18th Quilt Show set for March 23-24 at North Clark Historical Museum

Featured this year will be COG (Crazy Ole Gals) & John. The theme is ‘Our Journeys Through the Years’

AMBOY – The North Clark Historical Museum will be the site of the 18th Quilt Show on Sat., March 23 (10 a.m.-4 p.m.) and Sun., March 24 (noon-4 p.m.) The museum is located at 21416 NE 399th St., in Amboy 

Featured this year will be COG (Crazy Ole Gals) & John. The theme is “Our Journeys Through the Years.”  The group members are Rosanne & John Hatfield, Alvera Gaskins, and Riza Russum.  They are members of the Clark County Quilters Guild and formed COG three years ago. They meet every Friday via Zoom and twice a month in person during the summer.

COG will have over 80 quilts on display and will share new techniques they’ve learned while working with textiles. The group also sews for “Project Linus.” Project Linus provides handmade blankets to children 0-18 in the United States who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. 

The Museum raffle quilt, “Winter Magic,” will be on display, and tickets will be available to purchase.  The queen size quilt was made by the Chelatchie Quilters of Chelatchie Prairie. The proceeds from the raffle benefit the Museum’s Capital Improvement Fund. There is no admission fee. Donations are welcome. The event is wheelchair accessible.

The North Clark Historical Museum was founded in 1988 and is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization governed by a Board of Directors. The doors were opened in June of 2000.  Mission Statement: To preserve North Clark County’s natural and cultural history through collections and exhibits, and to sponsor educational programs and research opportunities for the enrichment of the public.
