Mandating masks is very different from mandating vaccines. One is a medical procedure with known dire risks (though low) and the other is a piece of cloth smaller than most cloth or paper smaller than any other mandated article of clothing.

Marie, So in other words you don’t mind putting a USED POOP FILLED Baby Diaper on Covering your NOSE and MOUTH. I don’t like masks that is why I don’t wear them its only the IDIOTS that wear masks and continue to do so.

The difference is only in degree of violation of rights then? Both are fascist policies by definition (making business/industry enforce what would otherwise be a violation of individual rights).
The mask is temporary. The jab is not. In a bizarre sort of way we are lucky that the consequences are so dire. IF we pay enough attention we MIGHT be able to use the information to end it.
But the lockstep policies around the world must make us question election integrity, as well as the alphabet media.

Not everyone can wear them, due to having PTSD, anxiety, asthma where you’re already having problems breathing, it’s a know fact the masks lower your oxygen intake. Children that are constantly touching their mouths and putting bacteria onto their mask and then, they’re breathing it in all day..how many kids are going to school with the same mask on day after day. in a medical setting they are changing them constantly throughout the day and they don’t have them on 24/7. . They’ve tested these masks our children are wearing and there’s tons of bacteria in those..not to mention now, we’ve got A huge increase in cranial infections.. I’ve spent 20 years in the medical field and there’s been plenty of studies done on those masks and they were never intended to be used to stop viral transmission because A virus is 1/1000s size of a human hair! It goes right though the mask. This is why everyone is getting this Omacron virus now. It’s Doesn’t matter if you’re vaxed, unvaxed, mask wearer or not. Have you noticed how many people that have been vaccinated are all getting Covid and they’re wearing their masks…So, there is many reasons why we should not be mandated to wear these masks! the science tells us they don’t work! Plenty of studies backing this up, no studies proving that they stop virus transmission..

Do you have any friends who are doctors that might be willing to educate you about masks and their inability to stop viral transmission? Posting comments like this only make you look stupid. Or maybe you’re a liberal.

If the mask was truly just a piece of cloth for everyone then there wouldn’t be an issue. But we are all individuals with varying degrees of tolerance. For some it’s no big deal, for others it’s hot and smelly and fogs up their glasses. For others it’s a physical reminder of having a hand put over their mouth as they’re being assaulted. For some it’s cutting off communication with the world because they’re deaf and being able to see people’s mouths move is important. For children it’s a detriment to their learning and development in their formative years. And for others it’s a constant stress because several times a day their teacher has to tell them to pull up their mask.

For me it’s constant hot flashes, being triggered by breathing into my own face, as a result of chemo. It’s either poking me in the eye, tickling my nose, or hurting my ears. It’s not being able to hear someone when they talk, and it’s 2 years of anxiety every time I go into a store without a mask on.

For you it may just be a piece of cloth, but not everyone is you.

The masking is total hypocrisy. It doesn’t stop the spread. It’s a way of controlling the masses. This “flu virus ” has run its coarse. If the media stops talking about it and we stop wearing masks the virus goes away.

Fabricated numbers. More people died of the flu this year and the hospitals were virtually empty. Oh, and deaths marked as “covid” that are completely unrelated to covid. Trump lives rent free in your heads.

This poll is comparing apples to oranges when it asks if we should “ban” masks and vaccines, and then equates that to Britain’s policy. Britain didn’t vote to”ban” masks and vaccine mandates. They discontinued the requirement to use masks and show vaccination status in public based on the current COVID case data. They can bring back the requirement for masks and vaccination proof if the COVID situation changes again for the worse. This poll is meaningless.

The mini-initiative before the CC councilors specifically bans discriminatory mandates–those that discriminate against an individual’s medical health status and/or violates medical health privacy. Those that are unable to wear a mask or get a vaccination should NOT have their rights violated. Those rights being God-given and guaranteed to “We the People” by our state and federal Constitutions.

I definitely Say they need to get rid of Mandates that discriminate against a person’s Medical Freedom. Telling people to put a medical device on their face or put poison in their bodies, should be a person’s choice. People can make the decision for themselves to mask or vax and not to be pushed by Bureaucrats on the Clark County Council like Temple Lenz and Julie Olsen. I just hope GARY, Karen, and Eileen will do the right thing and pass it no matter what the other two Leftists think.

The myth is that masks “protect others” … (what? from someone who, likely isn’t infected?…) Following the science (something that is often claimed, but is rarely true) indicates that N95 and N100 mask/filters may provide moderate protection from those who are infected and actively spreading COVID-19. Surgical masks, properly fitted, may provide some limited protection, though such masks are designed to protect the patient from medical staff (not so much the other way ’round). Homemade or commercial cloth (even multiple layer) masks provide “limited” to zero protection either for others or for the wearer. (These are popular, since they’re easier to breathe through and are often more comfortable (as they can be loose (and thus, less effective).)

The downside of N95 makes is that those with exhale valves were “insufficient” for use under the Official Mandates. (The exhale valves made such high-filtration makes more comfortable to wear, but didn’t “protect” others, according to those making mandates.) This also eliminated N100 filters which are usually worn with “respirator devices” and are most commonly used in extreme dust (and with appropriate filters, in toxic) environments. (Note N-100 filters remove 99+% of all micro particles, drops, etc.)

So, if the mandates are dropped, those at most risk (elderly, those with co-morbidities) could wear effective masks that would provide real protection (and yet be easy to breathe while wearing). The rest of the public, most of whom have little serious risk from COVID-19, could then do as they wish according to their own judgment and evaluation of the risks to themselves.

I know I can’t convince those who are against masks and against vaccines to wear a mask and get vaccinated. Neither preventive method guarantees you won’t get COVID. However, it improves your odds from either not getting or not dying from COVID. I do know we have had several deaths in our company from COVID, my brother in laws were very ill from COVID. My wife and I always wear masks inside public places. Her job puts her at high risk for contracting the disease but so far, she has been lucky and has not fallen ill. Both of us have been vaccinated and received the booster vaccination.  If you take the emotional response of “government trying to control me” away and look at scientific data provided using critical thinking skills to truly assess what the governmental health care system is asking of you, I would hope the path to an informed decision will be obvious.
The USA public health system, scientists, public health care providers have no skin in the game to control a specific individual but put policies in place that will benefit society/citizens as a whole. They strive to have good public health outcomes. The world in in a pandemic crisis they are simply trying to prevent, as much as they can control, severe illnesses and deaths. If you look at various vaccinations (Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Polio, Tetanus and Diphtheria Toxoids, Pertussis, influenzae, Hepatitis B) they all benefit our society as a whole. Many of these are required before a child enters into public schooling. People entering the military also have vaccine requirements and require additional vaccinations depending upon what country they will be deployed to.  Again, it’s not to control but to prevent those who serve from becoming seriously ill or die. If we didn’t have these vaccinations it is likely many of us living on this earth would not exist today because our grandparents and parents would not have survived some of the diseases they received vaccination for.

I am proud of our Federal, State and Local governments and I don’t complain about taxes because of the benefits I get from paying my fare share. (exception:… they should be more equitable).  Because of Federally mandated laws, in which State and local government are required to follow, I have less communicable disease to worry about, I have good drinking water, cleaner air (compared to the 50s,60, & 70s,) safer roads, safer cars, safer air travel, safer food, restrictions on land use for the public good, public land access such as national parks and forests, waterways, rivers, creeks and streams in which I can fly fish, hike, ski and drive on.
Because of Federal and state laws, if I’m injured at work my health care is covered by workers compensation. At age 62 I can get a small check from the government know as Social Security which is to assist in keeping me above the poverty line (although not nearly adequate) but something is better than nothing. (Sorry I digressed, but our governmental policies and funded departments to implement and manage those policies are not evil. Everyone benefits from them).

God bless these UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

I appreciate how present your point of view. It is thoughtful, unbiased and free from emotional outbursts. Very well done.

May I counter with a different take on masks and the injection? ‘sI am a cancer survivor. When I was going through chemo my immune system was shot, that’s what chemo does to you. I had 3 young kids at the time, 3, 5, and 7, so little germ factories. Our family became diligent about washing our hands. When the kids came home from school or after being out they washed their hands. Everyone who came over to our house either washed their hands or used hand sanitizer upon entering. I didn’t wear a mask once and I didn’t get sick. Both my mother and my aunt were nurses and they swore by handwashing.

I’m sure you have observed people’s mask habits over the past 2 years. They constantly touch them, they wear them below their nose, they use the same one for days on end, it gets stuffed in a pocket or shoved in a purse, and now the breathable masks are THE THING so you know those are strictly for show. If masks truly did work any benefit that most people would get is negated because I believe most people aren’t using them correctly. I have also read articles from the CDC, the New England Journal of Medicine, an 8 study meta analysis and the packages themselves that say the same thing, masks don’t work to stop the spread of a virus.

There are negative effects from long term mask usage. Germs build up in them, a lab study was done on children’s masks after being worn all day at school. The report showed staph, meningitis, e coli, legionnaires’ disease, but do you know what they didn’t find? Covid. Kids have developed rashes from long term use. My daughter gets headaches from having to wear one at school all day. Student athletes have become dizzy and passed out from being forced to wear a mask while competing. And constant mask usage by young children is not only medically detrimental but it’s also mentally, psychologically and developmentally detrimental to their development. I have a picture of a drawing that a mom sent to me of a self portrait her son drew. One picture was of himself wearing a mask and the other was without the mask. In the picture of himself without the mask he had no nose or mouth.

This injection is different from any other vaccine we have. For one it’s not a vaccine, it’s gene therapy, two for many it’s still experimental, 3 most vaccinations go through a trial of around 5 years, this one had a trial period of months before it was given to the public. And even though the public schools require vaccines to go to school you can still get an exemption (except the mmr but that’s a different debate.)

The injection is beneficial for individuals who are over 65 or have comorbid conditions especially breathing difficulties or obesity. But if you don’t fall into those categories the injection can do more harm than good. We know that you can still get covid even if you’ve been injected and the younger you are the greater your risk of having an adverse reaction than from covid. Myocarditis, stroke, seizures, miscarriage, unusual vaginal bleeding, all of these things have been reported to the VAERS database, and since reporting is optional we can only assume there are more cases than have been reported. Did you know that they’re now trying to convince parents that teenagers having a heart attack is a thing and here are the signs? The fact is if you are under 40 and healthy your risk of an adverse reaction to the vaccine is greater than dying from covid. And if you are a child your risk of dying from covid is so negligible it isn’t even worth calculating.

There has been such a huge silencing of reputable doctors, scientists, virologists over this issue that people can’t trust the CDC, the NIH, or Fauchi anymore, especially when we see these people telling us to mask up, social distance, stay home, and then they’re caught time after time in public, at parties, at restaurants and on vacation with no mask or social distance.

It is for these and many more reasons that many people want it left up to the individual to do what they decide is right for them. They aren’t saying people should be forced to take the mask off or not allowed to get the injection, they’re just saying we have the right to decide for ourselves what is best. Our country was founded on individual rights and we want the right to weigh the cost vs the benefit and decide for ourselves.

The MINI initiative got 8,000 signatures to ban mask mandates and go against public safety protocols that the majority of citizens support. There are 500,000 citizens in Clark County. The 8,000 don’t speak for the half million. Don’t cave to North County anti-vaxxers!

Then you get the vaccines, by the dozen, and wear your mask…..your free choice! Forcing people to mask and put foreign substances over and over into their bodies( that do not stop the virus) to keep their livelihoods is not free choice! Forcing dirty masks that do not stop the virus ,hurt our children mentally and physically, and thinking of forcing our children who handle this virus well, with all the known side affects is, and the lack of scientific study for what it can do to them in their futures , is ludicrous. Should we have our healthcare open to the government with know privacy? Should they know everything about you? Then there is this amazing Fed and State government, down to the mayors, cities and county councils, dictating without laws or following our Constitution taking our rights away and using media to scare the crap out of people daily! We would never, ever, had more deaths per capita then other countries, but Big Pharma, our Government, dictated the protocol of care they are still using today. Those drugs investigative emergency use only drugs, and made them covered by Medicare, to go along with every Covid-19 diagnosis, and death certificate! So tired of all the information out there, and all the blind slurping up the lies!

You mean over 14,000! All these signatures had to be done in person. we were outside where people had to come to us! Don’t down play this! It was a huge accomplishment and a lot of work from all the selfless volunteers that helped gather these signatures..

This isn’t an anti-vax petition, it’s a pro-freedom petition. It simply recognizes a person’s right to choose for themselves. If it passes you will still have the freedom to wear your mask and get every new booster that comes out. They don’t want to deprive you of that right.

Vote yes, not because of your opinion about masks/vax, vote yes because this is a free country, with those freedoms coming from God and not government. Because it is un-American for the government to decide for its citizens what is put on their face or injected into their body. That is a personal decision that should be left up to the person.

Other outlets show a more believable base of opinion, where the “No’s” handily win.

That shows the political bias of this site. There is no value in taking polls here, because the point of the site is to accumulate like-minded people.
