Dangerous Rhetoric
One of the favorite tactics of today’s political left is the redefinition of words. Word meanings naturally shift over time — that’s one of the reasons Shakespeare is so difficult for today’s students to read: middle English was very different.

However, the forced redefinition of words that we see in today’s culture is being used to remake our society, and transform our world and our lives into something corrupt and unrecognizable. “Marriage” was the first word victim of the modern radical left. It turns out conservatives should have fought harder to preserve the traditional meaning of this important word. However, we bowed to the pressure from those who accused us of being “haters” or even “phobes.”
We knew those accusations were false, but we gave in to the pressure of the cultural temper-tantrum. We knew in our hearts conservative people of most religious faiths don’t actually “hate” or “fear” people we disagree with. We pray for those people. We earnestly seek to save their souls and help them develop a relationship with God. We’re genuinely saddened when we fail to reach them. We rejoice when our prayers are answered and God opens someone’s heart and mind to hearing God’s Word.
Now, conservatives are reaping the harvest of our failure to stand our ground and fight for the words that matter. Because words are really symbols of ideas. And words are used to create law. According to the Gospel according to Saint John (1:1): “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Words under attack include “man” and “woman”; “parent” and “age of majority”; “grooming” and “pedophilia”. Words like “individual bodily autonomy,” “abortion” and “health care.” Words like “green” and “climate” and “weather.” Words like “freedom” and “free speech” and “misinformation.” Words like “racism,” “diversity” and “equality.” Almost every important concept has been twisted and warped by those who deny God and serve evil.
Today, words belong to leftist politicians who create new words like “stakeholder” and use those words to twist the very idea of public education and change who is actually responsible for our children’s health and well-being. Words and their meanings also apparently belong to giant corporations who create certain “approved” products and also those corporations that control what is allowed to be said on social media.
The new twin corporate gods of “green” and “medicine” are being used to justify the transformation of our state and our country into a despotic, totalitarian dictatorship—where only the politically correct have medical freedom, affordable transportation, civil rights or a voice. Soon, even access to money and work will also be only available to those who surrender to the new meaning of words.
Governor Inslee has been the dictator of Washington state for more than 960 days. When the emergency powers law was drafted, legislators couldn’t imagine it would be abused as it has been by this governor. And they couldn’t imagine corrupt Democratic elected officials, who would prefer the power of a dictatorship to freedom for all. Words matter, and those legislators failed to put in words to limit that emergency power.
How do we recover our freedom and protect our society? We VOTE.
Your vote is another type of speech. Do not give up your freedom of speech so meekly, so passively or so hopelessly just because the Father of Lies has tried to discourage you from participating in politics and elections. Strengthen yourself and put on the whole armor of God. If you fail to do your part; if you fail to speak with your ballot, it’s very possible for evil to win the next election and finish the destruction of America.
Vote for Tiffany Smiley for Senate. We have a chance to flip the balance of power in the U.S. Senate and stop the runaway progressive agenda. Vote for every Republican on your ballot at the state and federal level. It’s time to stop the one-party rule of the radical left. Finally, vote for election integrity by remembering to write in Brad Klippert for secretary of state. He won’t be on your ballot, he’s not in your voters guide. You’ll have to visit www.writeinKlippert.com to discover what a strong defender of free and fair elections Rep. Klippert will be if elected. (Full disclosure: I am working for the write-in Klippert campaign, and Brad Klippert has my strongest endorsement.) Our ballots will be mailed on Oct. 21, 2022. Be sure to hold on to your ballot and vote on Election Day on Nov. 8. Avoid the U.S. Mail System, and deliver your ballot in person to the auditor’s office or a ballot drop box. We can still save the country if we all vote.
