Clark County Fire District 3 and the city of Battle Ground are planning three public hearings to share information about a possible annexation request. Specifically, voters in both communities may be asked to allow the city to annex to the fire district in the February 2020 Special Election.
Battle Ground is holding two public hearings on Mon., Oct. 7 and Mon., Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers, 109 SW 1st Street. Fire District 3 is holding its public hearing on Mon., Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at 17718 NE 159th Street, Brush Prairie, WA 98606.
Currently, Battle Ground contracts with Fire District 3 for emergency services. Contracts are short-term by nature and do not allow for the long-range planning that we need to do as our communities grow. Annexation would allow for this as well as maintain quality emergency services for our respective communities.
