
Four people were displaced by the fire
At 7:26 a.m. Sunday (March 3), the Vancouver Fire Department (VFD) was dispatched to the report of a house fire at 2219 Simpson Ave. in Vancouver.


Eight suppression units from the VFD and several fire engines from Clark County Fire District 6 were dispatched. A total of 27 firefighters were on the scene.
The first Vancouver Fire units arrived three minutes after they were dispatched. Crews arrived to find a duplex on fire and quickly deployed hose lines to extinguish the fire. The fire was extinguished, and the building was searched in under 17 minutes.
No citizens or firefighters were hurt during the incident. Four people were displaced by the fire. The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s office was on the scene investigating. Smoke detectors were operating in the residence.
VFD officials remind area residents to test their smoke detectors regularly.
