Vancouver Police make arrest in attempted murder and arson investigation

Rick LHW Stone is charged with Murder I and Arson I for his alleged involvement in incident last summer

VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Police Department has made an arrest in an attempted murder and arson investigation of an incident that took place last summer.

On July 2, 2020, Vancouver Police responded to a vehicle fire in a parking lot at 2901 NE St. Johns Blvd. When officers arrived, they located a 63-year-old male suffering from burns. 

According to witnesses, the victim was sitting inside his vehicle when a male approached the vehicle and poured gasoline on both the vehicle and the victim. When the victim got out of his vehicle, the suspect lit the vehicle on fire, which engulfed the victim in flames. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment for his burns, which required hospitalization.

On Feb. 4, the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Team, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, arrested 44-year-old Rick LHW (Left Handed Wolf) Stone, also known as Rick Kelly, on a Clark County Superior Court arrest warrant. He was booked into the Clark County Jail for Attempted Murder I  and Arson I.
