Vancouver Police investigating drive-by shooting

The victim, a 17-year-old male, is expected to survive his injuries


VANCOUVER – A 17-year-old male victim was injured in a drive-by shooting Saturday night in East Vancouver.

On Saturday (Feb. 5) at about 9:15 p.m., 9-1-1 received calls of shots heard in the 500 block of SE 123rd Avenue. While Vancouver Police officers were responding to that location, an area hospital contacted police that a male with gunshot wounds had just arrived at the hospital. The male victim, 17 years of age, is expected to survive. 

Multiple shell casings were recovered at the 123rd avenue location. Two other vehicles were hit by gunfire during the incident but there were no additional injuries reported. 

Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Team and Safe Streets Task Force are continuing the investigation.
