Vancouver Police investigate drive-by shooting

Detectives determined approximately 28 rounds had been fired, 25 were near to or had hit the building of a nearby apartment complex

VANCOUVER – The Vancouver Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting that took place in the early morning hours Monday.

At about 2:10 a.m. on Monday (Aug. 30), Vancouver Police responded to NE 40th Street/NE Andresen Road for the report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they located a male who had a gunshot wound to his arm.  

The male was transported to an area hospital for treatment. He and his acquaintance provided limited information to investigators about what had occurred. 

Detectives determined approximately 28 rounds had been fired, 25 were near to or had hit the building of a nearby apartment complex; several rounds were located inside various apartment units. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported. 

The Safe Streets Task Force is investigating.
