Two suspects were arrested Monday morning and charged with multiple crimes
VANCOUVER – On Monday (June 19) at about 7:45 a.m., Vancouver Police responded to the 6700 block of NE 162nd Avenue for a suspicious circumstance. Two males were parked in the parking lot, each in a stolen vehicle. One of the vehicles was associated with a series of storage unit burglaries.
Police contacted the males, one was taken into custody, the other drove off. A traffic stop was initiated, the driver continued to flee, crashed the vehicle, headed on foot toward a shopping complex and entered one of the businesses through a rear door.
Vancouver Police, assisted by SWAT, evacuated the shopping complex, and began a thorough search of the business complex. With the use of UAS, police were able to locate the suspect in the ceiling area of one of the businesses. At approximately 1:07 p.m., the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
Christopher Sabo, 28, was arrested for Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and outstanding warrants for Theft.
Casey Pearson, 32, was arrested for Burglary, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Theft of Firearm, and Felon in Possession of Firearm.
Both stolen vehicles were recovered as well as additional stolen property.
The investigation is continuing and nothing further is releasable at this time.
