Vancouver man killed in single-vehicle collision

Benjamin Quatier, 29, was pronounced dead at the scene

VANCOUVER — A Vancouver man was killed in a single-vehicle collision late Monday night.

Detectives determined that 29-year-old Benjamin Quatier, of Vancouver, was driving his 2001 Dodge Neon westbound on NE 117th St. from NE Highway 99. Benjamin failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and lost control of his vehicle. Photo courtesy of Clark County Sheriff’s Office

At about 11:30 p.m. Monday, the Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded along with Fire District 6 crews to a single-vehicle rollover collision in the 1400 block of NE 117th St. in Vancouver.

Detectives determined that 29-year-old Benjamin Quatier, of Vancouver, was driving his 2001 Dodge Neon westbound on NE 117th St. from NE Highway 99. Benjamin failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and lost control of his vehicle.  The vehicle exited the roadway to the south and impacted a cobblestone retaining wall.  Benjamin suffered fatal injuries during the collision event and was pronounced at the scene.  Speed was determined to be a factor.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Traffic Unit is investigating the accident.
