The first-arriving units reported smoke and flames showing from the back of a small one-story house. Crews quickly deployed a hose line to the rear of the home and were able to extinguish the bulk of the fire from outside while additional crews advanced hose lines into the interior of the house to conduct a search for possible occupants and extinguish all remaining fire.

It took firefighters approximately 10 minutes to bring the fire under control. No injuries were reported. One person was displaced and was being assisted by friends.

The Vancouver Fire Department was assisted by Clark County Fire District 6 and AMR. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office.
